Gluten Free Review: The Angel, Long Crendon

I have dined in this restaurant on a number of occasions and have been very impressed each time.

I have visited twice recently for Sunday lunch. The staff are very knowledgable on gluten free dishes and are always happy to go and speak to the chef when necessary.

One of the parts I find hardest about going out for a meal is the feeling of missing out when the gorgeous bread basket appears! Not the case at The Angel as a warm gluten free bread roll is available.

I have tried both the pork and beef for Sunday lunch and they have both been very tender with delicious gravy. The roast potatoes are not crunchy enough for my liking, but tasty all the same.

After misunderstanding the list of pudding options the waitress had given me one visit I accidentally ordered a lemon eton mess (not on the menu!) The Chef kindly made it anyway – what a treat! It was absolutely delicious. I have also tried the lemon posset which I can highly recommend.

This lovely restaurant is the perfect place for a tasty meal, fairly expensive but I’m always happy to pay more for good quality food and great, knowledgable service from staff.
